The Community Foundation in Tasmania is currently entering a phase of new development. This includes the organization will be now be managed in Hobart. A program of Board Renewal is well under way. The Myer Foundation/Sidney Myer Fund have invited the Community Foundation to be a partner in the Commemorative Grants Program 2009. The 'Celebrating Our Partners' project is the subject of research 2009-2011 that includes the Community Foundation as a participant.The 1st workshop has been conducted in Melbourne in February 09.

The Myer Foundation and Sidney Myer Fund have engaged The Australian Centre for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies (Queensland University of Technology) to conduct the research. "Philanthropic Investment for Strong Community Organisations".
